ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Closing out the regular season on a hot note, the UCF women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory vs. Florida Atlantic at the UCF Tennis Complex Saturday in Orlando. With the win, the Knights (9-10) won their fifth match out of their last six contests heading into the Conference USA Championship next weekend.

UCF swept the doubles point to gain an early 1-0 lead on the afternoon vs. FAU (9-8). Courtney Griffith and Genevieve Lorbergs topped Marlene Ryan and Natalina Tomaszewicz at No. 1, 8-4. At the No. 2 spot, Alexis Rodriguez and Jenna Doerfler defeated Justin Humair and Natasha Basma, 6-4 (def.), while Taylor Dubins and Andrea Yacaman notched an 8-1 victory over Catalina Ene and Natasha Phillips, 8-1, over in the No. 3 position.

The momentum carried over to the singles matches, as UCF swept FAU in the six matches to capture the overall team win. At No. 1, Lorbergs defeated Humair, 6-1, 6-2, while Alexis Rodriguez cruised past Ryan at No. 2, 6-4, 6-1. Other impressive wins included Josephine Haraldson not allowing a game against Erika Mrazkova at the No. 5 position along with Griffith topping Phillips at the No. 6 spot, 6-2, 7-5. And Dubins capped off the day thanks to a 7-6(2), 6-4 showing at No. 4 against Ene.

Saturday marked the final home match for seniors Dubins, Rodriguez and Yacaman.

The C-USA Championship will begin on April 19 in Memphis, Tenn. Seeding for the tournament will be determined in the coming days.
