MEMPHIS, Tenn. (UCFAthletics.com) - In its first trip outside of the state of Florida for the 2012-13 season, the UCF women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at No. 25 Memphis Friday at the Racquet Club of Memphis. It also was the Knights' fourth match against a ranked opponent in their last six outings.

With the defeat, UCF dropped to 7-5 on the year, and the Tigers jumped to 8-4.

As both teams looked to take the 1-0 lead in doubles play, UCF grabbed the first win at the No. 3 position when Jenna Doerfler and Sofia Baptista got by Liza Tymchenko and Skylar Kuykendall, 8-4. However, Memphis tied it up with a win at No. 2, and the Tigers' No. 58-ranked duo of Courtney Collins and Kelly Gray won the final two games at No. 1 against Genevieve Lorbergs and Josephine Haraldson for a 9-7 decision and the doubles point.

Memphis then delivered three-straight singles victories to secure the overall team win. Caroline Eberhart put a halt to the Tigers' streak when she topped Tymchenko at No. 4, 6-4, 6-4. Just a freshman, Eberhart now paces the team with a 17-7 record, including a 9-3 mark in dual-match play.

UCF wraps up its trip to Memphis with a neutral-site contest against Saint Louis Saturday at 1 p.m.
