ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of UCF Arena this week, allowing fans two chances to catch the team in action before the holiday break.
UCF will face Presbyterian at 7 p.m. Monday before meeting South Alabama at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Fans who bring non-perishable food items to Wednesday's game for the Allstate food drive will receive free admission.
The Knights (3-7) have little time to dwell on their most recent result - a 66-49 loss at FIU - thanks to three games over the next six days.
Monday's matchup marks the first between the two programs. Presbyterian (5-6) became a Division I institution in 2007-08 and this year marks the first year of postseason eligibility for the team. Karlee Taylor paces the Blue Hose in scoring with 10.1 points per game.
Two days later, the Knights will hope to avenge last year's triple-overtime, season-opening loss when South Alabama (7-3) rolls into town. Last year, forward Erika Jones set a school record and a Mitchell Center record with a career-high 24 rebounds. The Knights also tallied 76 points and 62 rebounds against the Jags last year -- their best showing in both categories a game all season.
The Jaguars have dropped both of their matchups against programs from the Sunshine State with conference losses to FAU and FIU already this season. USA is led by Mary Nixon's 14 points per game and Ronneka Robertson's 7.2 rebounds per game.
Season tickets, which start at only $30, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com.
