ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) -- The UCF women's basketball team (12-12, 7-5 C-USA) looks to roll to its third-straight win on Sunday at 2 p.m. when the Knights get a second chance at Memphis (19-6, 9-3 C-USA) in their Susan G. Komen Pink Game. The Tigers claimed a 65-57 win in Memphis nearly two weeks ago.
Fans who wear pink to the game will enjoy free admission.
Sunday's game marks the third Pink Game that UCF has played in over the past two weeks. Raising awareness for breast cancer is important to the Knights since assistant coach Bob Starkey's wife was diagnosed with the disease in 2007. After undergoing a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and eventually a double mastectomy, Sherie Starkey is one of the 2.6 million survivors living in the U.S. today.
Prior to the season, the team volunteered at the Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure on UCF's campus, manning the children's tent. Associate Head Coach Greg Brown also ran in the 5K.
The Tigers sit second in the standings with a 9-3 record in C-USA play this year after losing at Marshall on Thursday night. Memphis leads the C-USA in scoring (70.3 ppg), steals (11.9 spg) and field goal percentage (.412). Memphis is 5-5 on the road this year, including a 4-2 mark in conference play.
Jasmine Lee paces the team with 14.8 points and 10 rebounds per game. Brittany Carter follows at a close second with 14.5 points per game.
As always, the IMG Sports Network will broadcast all of UCF's games live on UCFAthletics.com with a subscription plan. Scott Adams will provide the play-by-play. Live stats are also available via UCFAthletics.com.
