ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's tennis head coach Bobby Cashman announced Tuesday that Pedro Wagner, one of the premier junior players in South America, has signed a Grant-In-Aid and will join the Knights this fall. A native of Brazil, Wagner was ranked as high as No. 6 among all amateurs in his country.

In 2010, Wagner was the national runner-up in the 16s and also helped his team win the Federation Cup. Wagner has competed in a number of ITF junior events and has won 17 singles contests and 20 doubles matches.

"Pedro is an excellent addition to our program," Cashman said. "He has a pro style game and has a big forehand. Pedro has some invaluable international experience, and has been winning at a high level for a very long time. We have no doubt that he will develop into a great college player."

Wagner is part of the Brazilian Junior National Team and has competed with the squad since he was 13.
