ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team is ranked No. 2 in the South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and No. 16 overall in the nation by Soccer America. Regional and national rankings were posted this week as the Knights landed amongst the top teams in the country.

UCF was one of only two Conference USA teams in the national poll with SMU ranked No. 21. It was also one of only two C-USA teams in the South Region rankings by NSCAA with South Carolina ranked No. 5.

UCF began its regular season with many honors including rankings by Goal.com, College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com. The Black and Gold were also picked to finish second in C-USA play after finishing the 2010 season in the same space.

UCF began this season Aug. 28 at Jacksonville, defeating the Dolphins, 2-1. Junior A.J. Nelson (Vedra, Fla.) and sophomore McKauly Tulloch (Kingston, Jamaica) scored for the Knights to get the victory.

The Black and Gold will host home matches against UMass Sept. 2, Belmont Sept. 4 and North Florida Sept. 7 before going back out on the road again.

Individual game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth and seniors. For just $75, Knights fans will receive season tickets to both soccer programs as well as volleyball in the fall and every softball game and track & field meet in the spring. The 2011 Gold Pass is on sale now and can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com, over the phone by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting the Bright House Networks Stadium Ticket Office.
