Kevin McPherson has spent two successful campaigns as an assistant coach at UCF. With the Knights, McPherson assists with individual instruction, scheduling and recruiting. In both of McPherson's campaigns at UCF, the Knights have earned invitations to the postseason.

During the 2007-08 season, UCF won two tournament titles and garnered a bid to the NCAA West Regional in Bremerton, Wash. In addition to winning the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational in Orlando and the UK Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky., the Knights posted three other top-five finishes.

UCF spent the majority of the campaign in the top 25 of the national rankings. McPherson helped David Johnson earn Conference USA Newcomer of the Year honors. Johnson joined teammate Greg Forest on the All-C-USA First Team.

In McPherson's first year in Orlando, the Knights had a strong season in 2006-07. UCF earned an invitation to the NCAA East Regional and finished 13th at the event. The Knights concluded the campaign 39th in the Golf Stat national rankings.

Several individuals received accolades during the year as Nuno Henriques was named to the All-Conference USA Freshman Team. Following the season, Giwon Suh was recognized for his work in the classroom as he earned Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar honors.

McPherson also assisted the women's program at UCF from 2006-08. The Knights participated in the 2008 NCAA East Regional in Athens, Ga.

A native of Conway, S.C., McPherson graduated from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He was a member and captain of the golf team from 2004-06 and garnered all-league honors from the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference. Before heading to Belmont Abbey, McPherson played golf from 2002-04 at Brevard Community College.

McPherson has served in numerous positions on the golf course during his career. He was an assistant golf professional at the International Club of Myrtle Beach (2000-02) and at the Burning Ridge Golf Club in Myrtle Beach (1998-99). While at Burning Ridge, he created the junior golf program sponsored by Myrtle Beach Junior Golf.
