ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - One of the biggest games on the Conference USA calendar now has a kickoff time the league office and FOX Sports Network announced Monday. UCF (7-2, 5-0) will travel to Tulsa (7-2, 5-0) to take on the Golden Hurricane in a battle of division leaders Saturday, Nov. 17, at 12 p.m. ET on FSN.
Tulsa is the only school in the West Division which owns a winning record against the Knights, boasting a 3-2 mark including a 24-17 victory over UCF in Orlando a year ago. The Black and Gold has only visited Tulsa's home field once, resulting in a loss in 2008.
The two teams have battled in two C-USA Championships Games, both at UCF. In 2005, Tulsa topped the Knights, 44-27, in the inaugural contest at the Florida Citrus Bowl, but UCF returned the favor with a 44-25 triumph in 2007 at Bright House Networks Stadium.
In 2012, Tulsa is 5-0 at home and ranks first in the league in rushing offense (232.9) and rushing defense (122.7). It also ranks second in scoring offense (36.8) and scoring defense (24.9). Its only losses this year were at Iowa State and at Arkansas, as the Razorbacks halted Tulsa's seven-game winning streak Nov. 3.
Conversely, UCF ranks first in C-USA in scoring defense (20.9), total defense (343.7) and pass defense (204.1), while it stands third in scoring offense (36.7) and rushing offense (189.3). It will be riding a five-game winning streak into its matchup at UTEP Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
The Knights (343.7) and Golden Hurricane (385.4) are the only two teams in C-USA which are holding opponents to under 400 yards of total offense.
Tulsa will travel to Houston Saturday before hosting UCF in its final regular-season home game Nov. 17.
