ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With the Sunshine State serving as one of the top areas in the country for football talent, The Battle of Florida college all-star game will take center stage Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. And UCF will be all over the field as seven Knights will suit up in Boca Raton, with the game to be televised by FOX College Sports.
The Battle of Florida game consists of players that are NFL draft eligible and have either been born in Florida or have played high school or college football in Florida.
Lacing the cleats for the North team will be defensive end Darius Nall, tight end Adam Nissley, punter David Bohner, placekicker Nick Cattoi and long snapper Charley Hughlett. Meanwhile, offensive lineman Nick Pieschel and wide receiver A.J. Guyton are set to participate for the South team.
Nall wrapped his UCF career with 89 tackles, 16.0 sacks and 23.0 tackles for loss, including 5.0 TFLs in 2011. On the offensive side of the ball, Nissley posted the fourth-most receptions by a tight end in UCF single-season history, collecting 21 for 235 receiving yards as a senior. From 2008-11, Nissley racked up 38 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns. Also on the line, Pieschel started 26 games in a Black and Gold uniform while playing in 43 overall contests. And Guyton amassed 122-collegiate receptions for 1,582 yards and seven touchdowns as a Knight.
Helping guide the special teams units, Hughlett was on the Conference USA All-Freshman Team as a long snapper in 2008, and went on to be voted onto the All-C-USA Second Team in 2010 and 2011. Cattoi posted a senior season in 2011 where he was 10-for-15 in field goals, including converting a 48-yarder at Southern Miss, and 21-for-21 in extra-point attempts. Meanwhile, Bohner was UCF's starting punter for just one year yet he ended 2011 ranked ninth on the single-season list with a 41.2 average, placing 16 of 42 punts inside the 20.
