ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team will open the 2012-13 campaign Saturday in Tampa against cross-state rival USF. The contest, which will serve as the first game inside the newly-renovated Sun Dome, will begin at 7 p.m.

The game will be televised in Orlando and Tampa on Bright House Sports Network and can be viewed nationally at ESPN3.com.

The Knights are led by Conference USA Preseason Player of the Year Keith Clanton. The senior forward averaged 14.5 points and 8.1 rebounds last season and is among a group of UCF returnees that also includes Isaiah Sykes and Tristan Spurlock.

The game against USF will serve as a preview of play in the BIG EAST Conference, which UCF will join next season. The Knights will also face the Bulls on Jan. 2 in Orlando.

USF returns four of its top-five scorers from last season's team that finished sixth in the BIG EAST and won a pair of games in the NCAA Tournament.

UCF-USF will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and WFLF-AM 540 in Orlando. Scott Adams will have the call from the Sun Dome and will be joined on the broadcast by former UCF guard Taylor Young.

After meeting the Bulls, UCF will return to Orlando and face Alabama State Tuesday for its home opener at the UCF Arena. Season tickets, which start at only $96, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000.
