ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Led by Conference USA Player of the Year candidate Keith Clanton, the UCF men's basketball team will play a program-record 20 games at the UCF Arena this season, highlighted by visits from in-state rivals USF and Miami and C-USA power Memphis. Head coach Donnie Jones announced the Knights' slate Friday and the home schedule is filled with can't-miss contests.

UCF returns several players from last season's team that won 22 games and posted memorable victories over No. 4 UConn and Memphis. The group is led by Clanton, an Orlando native who is already UCF's all-time leader in blocked shots. The forward is joined by all-conference candidate Isaiah Sykes, who was one of the most improved players in the nation a year ago. The Knights also welcome several talented newcomers, including dynamic Oklahoma transfer guard Calvin Newell.
UCF opens the regular season on Nov. 10 at USF. The Bulls, who advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament last spring, will conclude the home-and-home series with a visit to the UCF Arena on Jan. 2. USF is one of seven NCAA or NIT squads UCF will host this year.
"We are very excited about this schedule. We have some great teams coming to the UCF Arena," Jones said. "Our players have worked so hard in the offseason and are looking forward to the year. We have a great group of young men who are ready to face some excellent competition and represent our university with pride."
The Knights will make their home debut on Nov. 13 against Alabama State. UCF will then host NIT teams Savannah State (Nov. 18) and Middle Tennessee State (Dec. 18). On Nov. 23, the Knights will meet Florida in Gainesville. Florida advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament last March, and will be facing UCF for the first time since their historic matchup in 2010 at the Amway Center.
An NIT team a year ago, Miami will head to Orlando for a contest against the Knights on Dec. 18. The meeting with the Hurricanes will serve as the Knights' first against an ACC program at the new UCF Arena.
Following the UCF Holiday Classic (Dec. 28-29), which features first-round opponent Howard, Boston University and NCAA Tournament participant Belmont, UCF will host USF and Florida A&M (Jan. 5) before opening its final campaign in C-USA against visiting UAB on Jan. 9.
Rice (Jan. 23), SMU (Jan. 26), NCAA participant Southern Miss (Feb. 6), East Carolina (Feb. 9), NIT team Marshall (Feb. 20) and Tulsa (Feb. 23) will also come to Orlando for league contests.
The Knights will host league power Memphis, another 2012 NCAA Tournament team, in their home finale on March 2. UCF will conclude the season with road contests at UAB (March 6) and Southern Miss (March 9).
Tipoff times and broadcast information for UCF's games will be announced at a later date.
