ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team will conclude its home schedule with a huge Conference USA contest Saturday when the Knights host 17th-ranked Memphis. Tipoff at the UCF Arena is 1 p.m. and Keith Clanton and the team's seniors will be honored prior to the contest.
One of the top players in program history, Clanton is UCF's (19-9, 8-5 C-USA) all-time leader in rebounds, blocks and games played. The Orlando native, who is averaging 14.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals this year, has started 118-consecutive games at power forward and is among the C-USA career leaders in rebounds and blocks. Fans should arrive early to the arena as the senior day ceremony is set for 12:50 p.m.
Tickets for the game are available by visiting UCFAthletics.com. The UCF Arena box office will be open prior to the game Saturday. UCF students are admitted free with a valid school ID.
The first 2,000 fans to enter the facility will receive a free senior day poster and fans can show their UCF-Memphis ticket stub for free admission to the baseball game vs. Winthrop at 4 p.m. and softball games vs. UConn (4 p.m.) and Penn (6:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
The game will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net. Memphis (24-4, 13-0 C-USA) will serve as the first nationally ranked opponent for the Knights at the UCF Arena since the venue opened in 2007.
The Tigers had their national-leading 18-game winning streak snapped Tuesday at Xavier, but have won 17-consecutive C-USA contests. When UCF hosted Memphis a year ago, Clanton recorded the game-winning 3-point play with four seconds left to give the Knights a memorable 68-67 victory.
Ron Thulin will handle the play-by-play on the Fox broadcast and will be joined by former Tulane and Miami head coach Perry Clark.
UCF-Memphis will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game in Orlando. Marc Daniels and Taylor Young will have the call and pregame coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. Live statistics will be available at UCFAthletics.com.
After facing the Tigers, UCF will conclude the year with games at UAB (Wednesday) and Southern Miss (next Saturday).
