Rich Witten is in his first year serving as the director of baseball operations at UCF. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the baseball team while serving under head coach Terry Rooney.
Witten arrives in Orlando after wrapping up a decorated career at Coastal Carolina. While manning first and third base and also catching some games, Witten earned 2010 and 2012 NCAA All-Regional honors, a spot on the 2012 All-Big South First Team and also earned Big South All-Tournament distinction in 2010-12.
Prior to a brief professional stint with the Lake Erie Crushers, Witten ended his career in a Chanticleer uniform with a .316 batting average, including .346 his senior year, 17 home runs and 158 RBI.
A native of Danville, Ky., Witten graduated cum laude from Coastal in December 2011 with a 3.613 GPA in exercise sport science.
