Nationals 2012 are over and UCF cheerleading is officially ranked third in the nation! Although we didn't win the competition, I'm proud to say that I am a Knight. Unfortunately, Sunday was not our best performance, but third is very honorable. I'm not going to sit at home and wonder what the outcome would have been if we had nailed a solid routine, it is behind us and there simply isn't an answer for everything. Instead, I hold my head high and begin to prepare myself for next year: my senior year.
This experience ends on a positive note. I am walking away with 16 best friends and some amazing memories. This has been a life-changing experience for me and thanks to my coaches, I plan to approach all aspects in my life with a hard hat mentality! I am a part of something special and I cherish all of it. It is safe to say that my teammates and coaches are some of the most hard-working, dedicated and driven people I know. They have paved a path for future cheerleaders, and I am forever grateful for that!
In addition, I'm thankful for all of the UCF fans and alumni who came out to support us at the competition. We definitely had the best crowd! Love you guys! UCF KnightMoves also finished in the top 10 for their hip-hop routine so congratulations to our dancers as well!
Nationals 2012 was definitely an unforgettable experience, but it's time to get back to the daily grind! I am proud of what we accomplished this season and no matter what, I bleed Black and Gold. Until next year friends!
