About The Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame Logo

The UCF Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1998 to honor members of past athletic teams who have excelled in intercollegiate athletics at the University of Central Florida, or gained national recognition in athletics following their departure from campus. This Hall of Fame will also give special recognition to non-athletes who have contributed significantly to the development of the UCF athletics program.

In pursuit of the goal of inducting the most worthy athletes, no quota by sport is established. Each Hall of Fame class will strive to consider athletes in all sports and avoid domination by any one sport in selections. Nominees are not eligible until ten (10) years after they last participated in intercollegiate athletics at the University. Any special circumstances for an additional honoree(s) must be approved by the presiding UCFAA Director of Athletics.

The criteria for being considered for selection to the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame are as follows:

Legendary Knights - Letterwinners/Athletes who have brought recognition and prominence to the University and themselves by athletic accomplishments as an undergraduate. (Criteria to be considered: All-American, All-Conference, exceptional leadership as witnessed by teammates and/or coaches.)

Distinguished Letterwinners - Letterwinners/athletes who have made major contributions to the University athletic program through personal time, effort, interest and through many years of continued service and/or have distinguished themselves as exceptional in their chosen field or endeavor.

Honorary Letterwinners - Individuals, coaches, athletic officials, staff members and other University officials, who were not Letterwinners/athletes at the University of Central Florida, yet have rendered outstanding service to the intercollegiate athletic program through personal time, effort, interest and through many years of continued service. (Emphasis at nomination should be placed on continued service.)

Persons who have met the above criteria may be inducted posthumously. Nominations should be kept secret. Presentation of awards to inductees will be in conjunction with the Nov. 3 Tulsa game. The Director of Athletics' office will be permanently responsible to handle any matters so designated by the Selection Committee.
