In 2005 Vasquez went into the MLS. There he appeared in 11 games, starting eight times, as a rookie in 2005. He had two goals to his credit entering this season and scored his first career goal on his first shot in his MLS debut on 7/16 at Chicago. At the time, Vasquez became the 57th player ever to score in his MLS debut and just the 29th to do so on his first career shot in his debut. He was selected in the second round (No. 20 overall) of the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Made his MLS debut a memorable one, starting and playing the full 90 minutes, and tallying his first career goal on his first career shot in a 1-1 tie at Chicago on 7/16... Notched his second goal and first career game-winner on 10/8 in a 2-1 win at Chicago... Left the 9/17 game vs. Chicago with a right ankle sprain and missed the next three games (9/21, 9/24 and 10/1)... 2005 U.S. Open Cup: Started and played the entire 120 minutes in the Round of 16 match vs. FC Dallas on 8/3...Received a yellow card in the 41st minute.

Was a member of the U.S. Under-20 pool in 2002.

College Spent three years at the University of Central Florida, where he was a two-time, first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection (2002, 2003)... 2003: Was a M.A.C. Hermann Trophy nominee and a second-team NSCAA All-America selection... Named to NSCAA All-South first team... Was a first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection...Named to Atlantic Sun Conference All-Tournament team... 2002: Was a first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection and a NSCAA All-South third team selection...Named to the Atlantic Sun All-Tournament team...2001: Named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team.

Vasquez also helped the Central Florida Kraze to the 2004 USL PDL championship and earned first-team All-League honors. He was the PDL Rookie of the Year and first-team All-League in 2003 with the Kraze.

Vasquez was born November 18, 1982 in Miami, Florida. His mother was born in Lima, Peru.
