Outfielder Esix Snead played in two seasons for the New York Mets in 2002 and 2004. He was originally drafted on June 2, 1998 by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 18th round of the 1998 amateur draft. He played at UCF from 1996-98.

After a few season in the Cardinals' minor league system, the Mets selected him off waivers on November 20, 2001.

Snead played in 17 games in 2002, batted .308 on 13 at bats. He recorded three runs on four hits, one of which was a home run. He added three RBI, four stolen bases and a walk.

The Mets would finally option Snead on May 22, 2004 to Triple-A Norfolk. Not long after on November 10, he would sign with the Atlanta Braves. Snead would last spend time in the Baltimore Orioles organization during 2006. Outside of Norfolk (2003-04), Snead also played Triple-A ball at Ottawa Richmond (2005) and Ottawa (2006) before retiring.
