He has been a Director of Denny's Corporation and Denny's, Inc. since 2001.

After attending junior college, Marchioli transferred to the charter class of the University of Central Florida. When he graduated, he joined Red Lobster, then a General Mills subsidiary, as a manager trainee. By the mid-1980s, he had become a vice president. Marchioli would eventually move onto to become an executive vice president for international operations and sales at Burger King.
