Paul Carrington played for the Broncos during the 2007 season as a free-agent, after originally signing with Atlanta Falcons as a rookie on May 1, 2006. Carrington joined the Broncos midway through the 2007 season on Nov. 6, but was inactive for the remaining eight games of the season.

As a rookie in 2006, he played 15 games, with two starts, for Atlanta, totaling 33 tackles and three sacks (18 yds.), one forced fumble and two passes defended while also posting a pair of special-teams stops. Carrington was inactive for the season opener at Carolina (9/10) before making two tackles in his pro debut vs. Tampa Bay (9/17). He added two tackles vs. Arizona (10/1) before recording five stops, including a sack and a forced fumble vs. Cleveland (11/12). On the last play of the first half, Carrington stripped QB Charlie Frye for a sack, allowing Rod Coleman to recover for the Falcons. Carrington made his first pro start the next week at Baltimore (11/19) and responded with six tackles and a sack. In the third quarter, Carrington dropped QB Steve McNair for a 6-yard loss. He added his third sack of the season at Washington (12/3) when he corralled QB Jason Campbell for a 13-yard loss in the fourth quarter. Two weeks later, he made five tackles and batted down a pass vs. Dallas (12/16). He posted a career-high seven tackles in his second career start vs. Car. (12/24).. He then competed in Atlanta's 2007 training camp before he was waived in its final roster cut-down.

College
Carrington finished the 2005 season with 46 tackles, 12.5 stops for losses, nine sacks, nine quarterback pressures, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one interception for 20 yards. Led Conference USA and tied for 23rd in the country with his nine sacks.

He started seven of 11 games for the Knights as a junior in 2004 and collected 30 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for losses, four sacks, four quarterback pressures, three passes defended, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one interception. He started 10 of 11 games played as a sophomore in 2003, accumulated 50 total tackles (26 solo), 6.5 tackles for losses, two sacks, eight quarterback pressures, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick. Also saw action in 11 games as a freshman in 2002 and finished with 13 total tackles (6 solo), one sack, two quarterback pressures, one pass defended and a forced fumble. He sat out first year at UCF as a redshirt in 2001.

Carrington graduated from Springfield, Georgia's Effingham County High School in 2001, where he played for coach George Spencer ... finished his career with 110 tackles, 24 tackles-for-loss and 14 sacks ... as a senior, totaled 41 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss and 10 sacks, and was a first team all-region selection and winner of the Iron Rebel Award ... was the 1999 team's Most Improved Athlete and was named Best Defensive End in 2000 ... an active student, he was elected class president and was an FCA officer ... four-time recipient of the team Scholar-Athlete Award and graduated with academic honors ... also a member of the basketball and wrestling teams at Effingham.
