UCF Athletics to Participate in 2nd Annual Back to School Safety Expo

Aug. 13, 2010

Orlando, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF Athletics will be joining the community in participating in the second annual Back to School Safety Expo at the Seminole Towne Center Mall, Saturday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the mall's Center Court.

Along with representatives from the UCF Athletics Ticket Office, local exhibitors will be on hand to distribute safety information to parents and the first 100 children get a free bike helmet and fitting from the Mix 105.1 Safety Safari.

UCF Athletics will also be joined on-site by the staff of Moms Like Me magazine and the mall's kids program, KidGits, to speak to families one-on-one about the upcoming UCF Knights athletics calendar and family-oriented entertainment.

Heading to Seminole Towne Center Mall will have added benefit on Saturday, as the visit coincides with the state's Florida Tax Free weekend. The Florida Legislature approved a bill that provides for a sales tax holiday on clothing and related items with a sales price of $50 or less, books with a sales price of $50 or less and school supplies with a sales price of $10 or less. Florida's Tax-Free Shopping Week runs August 13-15. Information will be available for shoppers at the Guest Services Booth.
