Faculty & Staff Members Notice
During Saturday game days, UCF will conduct morning classes. Afternoon classes will be canceled, and classroom buildings will be locked at 12 p.m. Faculty and staff members with keys may access the buildings after 12 p.m. if they are conducting official business; however, they are advised to make sure that doors remain locked after they enter. Students may not access classroom buildings after 12 p.m. on Saturday game days.
The first two levels of Parking Garage B will be reserved on Saturday game days for people on "official university business" from 5 a.m. until two hours after the completion of the football game.
There will be attendants stationed at Parking Garage B, and only people with proper credentials will be allowed to park on the first two levels. Proper credentials will include a faculty identification card, a formal test confirmation stub (LSAT, MCAT, etc.), theater tickets for that day's performance or student credentials distributed/approved by faculty members who teach Saturday classes.
All other faculty and student parking in the "Gold Zone" and in Parking Garage B is prohibited after 5 a.m. on weekend game days. Unauthorized cars are subject to towing.
Faculty with questions about reservations for Garage B should contact Peter Wallace at peter.wallace@ucf.edu.
For the third consecutive season, UCF will host a weeknight football game. The Knights will play East Carolina University on Thursday, Oct. 4, in a nationally televised game that will showcase our football program and our university.
The university's game day schedule and policies will be virtually identical to those successfully implemented during prior home weeknight games. We encourage you to keep the following schedule in mind as you develop your fall 2012 class plans.
UCF will conduct morning classes on the main campus and in the adjoining Research Park through noon on Oct. 4. The main campus and university offices in the Research Park will close for normal operations at 12:30 p.m. in order to allow adequate preparation time to support game day activities. Designated support functions will remain in place similar to our Saturday game policy. You should speak with your supervisor about how your specific area will handle operations after 12:30 p.m.
Classes at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and UCF's regional campuses will end at 2:50 p.m. on game day, with normal university operations closing at those locations at 3 p.m.
UCF will re-open for normal operations, including regular class and activity schedules, at 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5.
Staff members, faculty members and students will be able to park in many campus parking lots and garages throughout the weeknight game day. Most of the Blue and Red Zone parking areas will be available as per normal procedures on a first-come, first-served basis. Starting at 1 p.m., the first two levels of Garage B will be available for specifically authorized individuals conducting official university business. Additionally, Garage H will be reserved for authorized students displaying SGA-provided parking passes, credentialed staff and cash-paying customers on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 1 p.m.
No parking will be authorized on East Plaza Drive after 12:30 p.m. Furthermore, Gold Zone parking lots and garages (those closest to Bright House Networks Stadium) will be restricted to vehicles displaying official Golden Knights Club or UCF Athletics Association parking passes starting at 1 p.m. All unauthorized vehicles are subject to towing.
Gold Zone parking areas include all parking lots and garages located north of Gemini Boulevard North (with the exception of Garage E and Garage G), plus Garage C, Garage D, and parking lots C1, C2, D1 and D2. UCF reserved parking spaces for faculty and staff members will not be honored after 1 p.m.
The campus will open for game day parking and activities at 2 p.m. The open container waiver that allows alcohol consumption will be in effect from 2 p.m. until game start. No tailgating activities will be authorized after midnight.
Thank you for your assistance as we strive for another smooth transition between our morning classes and our weeknight game activities. GO KNIGHTS!
