Every team in the nation sets goals for itself each season.
Some squads achieve those goals and others fall short.
On Saturday, the Knights (8-2, 6-0) have a chance to
accomplish some of their goals when they take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane
(8-2, 6-0).
A win will clinch the Knights' fourth Conference USA East
Division title and also home field advantage in the C-USA Championship game. An
opportunity like this is what the players and coaches have been working towards
ever since last season ended.
All of the hard work UCF has done is what makes this week's
game against Tulsa more than just another game. It represents what the Knights
want to accomplish this season.
"In all of the hard work we put in the offseason we know how
much this game means and we don't want any of that to go to waste," senior
running back Latavius Murray said. "We know how important this game is and this
game sets us up closer to our goal and being able to have home field advantage
[in the conference championship game] here at home."
"Our slogan this year
is 'finish' and wanting to write our own destiny," senior linebacker Ray
Shipman said. "Basically this game is another stepping stone for us to writing
our own destiny. If we don't win this game it doesn't mean anything because we
didn't finish. Now is the time to finish."
