Hundreds of Knights fans came out for the Friday Knight Lights pep rally at Bright House Networks Stadium Friday to prepare for UCF's first home football game of the season. Fans, students and cheerleaders filed into the student section and got their game day faces ready for Saturday.

"It is wonderful," junior cheerleader Leah Moen said. "I'm so excited for the game...They're all (fans) as excited for the game as we are."

There was a steady downfall of rain throughout the pep rally, but that didn't scare away the Knights fans. There was also a DJ set up at the very front of the student section to get the UCF faithful ready to take on their in-state rival.

"It's going to take way more than that to keep the Knights down," UCF junior Gabriela Iglesias-Mendoza said about the weather. "Stuff like this (pep rally), we love it."

Iglesias-Mendoza said she has been attending Knights games since her freshman year. Her friend Max Benton transferred to UCF from another Florida school and will experience his first game on Saturday. Benton says he's excited to experience "Zombie Nation" in the student section.

"I'm stoked," said Benton. "There were a bunch of students. It was awesome. It was a good turnout, a bunch of good music and it was a fun time."

Kickoff for Saturday's game against FIU is set for 4 p.m. Complete coverage of the game can be found right here at UCFAthletics.com.
