ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Reporting on the Knights for Wednesday, Aug. 22. UCF will not practice today, but will be back to work on the outdoor fields Thursday as it prepares for the opener at Akron Aug. 30.

-UCF started Tuesday's session on the practice fields where punters Jamie Boyle and Caleb Houston were going to-to-toe, and the Knights also worked on some installation. They then moved inside Bright House Networks Stadium for a tag-off scrimmage. This not only allowed the Knights to get a feel for their home turf, but also gave a few members of the coaching staff a chance to sit in the press box to observe the action.

-The Black and Gold worked on some more special teams before matching up the offense vs. the defense on the game field.

Stat of the Day

-Three - Wide receiver Jeff Godfrey had three receptions during UCF's first drive of Tuesday's scrimmage, including a touchdown catch to cap it off.

What to Look For

-Thursday will mark exactly one week until UCF's season-opener at Akron.

-The No. 9 UCF women's soccer team will host No. 3 Florida State Friday at 7 p.m., as well as No. 12 Miami Sunday at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, men's soccer is at Florida Atlantic Friday and volleyball opens in Tampa against Creighton.
